Board of Trustees
Chris Byrne – President
My wife Janet and I have been married 42 years. We have three adult children, 33, 31, and 26. I received a B.A. in Psychology at the University of Northern Colorado and then went on to get my Master’s Degree in Academic Research (Psychology) at Humboldt State University. I continued in post-graduate education for two more years, earning credentials in School Counseling and School Psychology. I worked as a School Psychologist for 23 years. I then earned a credential in School Administration and went on to work as a Principal of two schools in Humboldt County for five years. In 2013, I was appointed Principal of Vichy Elementary here in Napa where I served for five years. I retired in July of 2018. When we moved to Napa we became members of the First Christian Church, where we are both very involved. Bringing children to Christ, and ensuring that they have the educational tools, and more importantly, the character to move forward as a new generation is of highest importance to me. I love children, and have been continuously inspired by them in my day to day work for the past 35 years.
Jeihri Robinson – Treasurer
I am originally from New Jersey and moved to Napa in 2006. I joined First Christian Church (FCC), having been invited by my now 15-year-old daughter’s preschool teacher at First Christian School. About a year later, I was asked to join the School Board as a parent, and have had many different roles on the Board since that time. I’ve also spent 6 years as a governing elder for FCC, where my wife Kelle and I are both involved. I am an avid supporter of Christian education, having seen its impact on my daughter’s life. Having spent the majority of my career in business and volunteer leadership, I pray that I am able to bring these experiences to bear in support of VCA’s efforts to provide excellence in education centered on Christian values.
Amanda Gibbs – Secretary
I was born and raised in Napa, and returned after receiving a bachelor's degree in Public Administration and Criminal Justice. I am an executive in the local community corrections field, and specialize in positive behavioral interventions for youth, special education advocacy, organizational development, grant administration, and data. I firmly believe in Christian education, and providing a holistic approach to education by giving every child the support and resources needed to be successful in all aspects of their lives. I am married with two children, both of whom attended Veritas Christian Academy (under the previous name of First Christian School). My family and I attend First Christian Church. I look forward to serving VCA as a Board member.
Dawnelle Ellis – Head of School
I grew up in Napa, and my husband and I have been part of the Napa community since we married in 1994. We have two beautiful children, who both attend VCA. I’ve been a member of First Christian Church of Napa since middle school. In 1997, I was hired to commence the First Christian School preschool program, and became the FCS School Administrator in 2007. It has been my pleasure and passion to follow God as He has led the school through considerable growth since its inception. I look forward to continuing that leadership as the VCA Head of School for as long as the Lord allows me.
Eric Dahlberg – Trustee
My wife, Michele, and I have been married for 24 years and have three children; Frances, 20, Philip, 18, and Mitchell, 10. I am the owner of Winesecrets, a company that provides outsourced wine and beverage production services, which I founded in 2002. Michele currently operates the non-profit foundation, Scientopia, which provides science enrichment activities to Napa County’s children. We have been members of First Christian Church since 2006, and I was appointed to the Elder board in 2017, where I serve as treasurer. I have also served on the Charter Council of the Napa Valley Language Academy. I am looking forward to bringing my life experience to serve on the board of Veritas Christian Academy.
Emily Darlington – Trustee
I am a parent of a 2nd grader here at Veritas Christian Academy. I currently work for First 5 Napa County, and am adjunct faculty at Napa Valley College. I believe that strong and healthy beginnings for children are the foundation for life growth and development. The first five years are essential in providing children with what they need for future success. I have worked with young children for over 8 years, and in the early education field for 15 years. I hold a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from Sonoma State University, and look forward to serving the school as God leads.
Steven Stuart – Trustee
My wife and I have been a part of the Napa community since 1986, and have been members of Grace Church of Napa Valley going on 30 years. The Lord has blessed us in many ways, including allowing us to raise three daughters and allowing us to serve His people at Grace in various ministries. I am currently serving as an Elder, in our Children’s Ministry and in our Sports Outreach Ministry. The Lord has also allowed me the joy of serving in adult and youth ministries in the past. I recently retired from the City of Napa Fire Department after a 30-year career. I look forward to serving on the Veritas Christian Academy School Board. With complete dependence on the Lord, I hope to be a part of a Board that keeps our school directly in His will, so His gospel and glory are spread throughout the Napa Valley.
Joe Taber – Trustee
My family and I have been a part of the Napa community since 2015. We moved from Southern California to start a wine packaging business that has flourished over the past three years. My wife, Heather, and I have four children, three of whom are currently enrolled at Veritas Christian Academy. We attend Grace Church and have been blessed to serve through different ministries. As a member of the VCA Board, I will take this responsibility and opportunity to glorify the Lord by contributing sound advice and ideas learned over my years in the corporate space. My family and I have found more than a place to live in Napa. We’ve found a home, a church and a school community where we are welcomed and encouraged to grow in faith and further our friendships.
